Safelist allows you to add trusted email addresses that bypass Watchlist rules. If a visitor’s email address is on the Safelist, their visit will automatically be approved, even if they match Watchlist rules such as Full Name, Company Name, or Phone Number.
This helps ensure trusted visitors are not flagged unnecessarily, reducing manual approvals and saving time.
Configure the Safelist
To add and manage Safelist entries, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Visitly Dashboard.
2. From the left-hand menu, go to Settings.
3. Select Global Watchlist Rules.
4. Click on the Safelist tab.

5. Click Add Safelist Rules and enter the trusted visitor’s email.
6. Choose where the Safelist should apply by enabling one or both toggles:
Visitor Sign-In → Applies when visitors sign in via:
Kiosk
Admin Dashboard (Visitor Log)
Contactless Check-In
Pre-registration → Applies when creating pre-registrations or bulk pre-registrations.
7. Click Save to confirm.
Example Scenario
Suppose two visitors share the same name (for example, John Smith). One John Smith is a trusted partner who should always be allowed access, while the other John Smith is restricted under your Watchlist rules.
Without a Safelist entry, both would trigger a Watchlist hit due to the name match. By adding the trusted John Smith’s email address to the Safelist, their visit will always be approved automatically, while the restricted John Smith (not on the Safelist) will continue to be flagged.
⭐ Tips:
Use the Safelist for contractors, recurring visitors, or trusted partners to reduce unnecessary Watchlist reviews.
Review your Safelist periodically to keep it accurate and up to date.
