Learn how to create notifications and set rules for specific events. 



Keep visitors and hosts updated with Visitly’s customizable notification system, ensuring seamless and effective communication.


Enable Notifications

1. Navigate to the Locations page and select  Edit on the desired location.

2. Click Notifications in the left-hand panel.

3. Toggle the Status option to activate or deactivate notifications.



Adding A New Notification

1. Go to the Notifications page for the location you want to update.

2. Click Add New in the top-right corner.

3. Select the Event you want to trigger the notification (e.g., Visitor Sign In).

4. Choose the Recipient.

  • Host: The person expecting the visitor.

  • Visitor: The individual arriving on-site.

  • Custom: A person not listed as a Visitly user. If selecting Custom, enter their email address.

  • User: Registered users or employees in Visitly. If selecting User, search for and select their name.

5. Select the Visitor Type (leaving this blank sends notifications for all visitor types).

6. Choose a Channel for the notification.

  • Email

  • SMS (Note: SMS is an add-on feature.)

7. Click Save to apply your changes.


  Note:  Visitly includes default notifications that prefill basic event details in the notification body. To customize notification messages, visit Notification Templates.


Enterprise plan users can enjoy instant notifications through Microsoft Teams, Slack, Google Chat, and WebEx Teams. Visit the Integration Notifications. page to learn more about Enterprise integration options.
