Learn how to add, update, and manage visitor types in Visitly.

Capturing accurate information from each visitor is essential for a secure and efficient workplace. With Visitly's customizable visitor types, you can create tailored sign-in flows that align with each visitor's purpose, ensuring seamless and secure access to your premises.
Adding A Visitor Type
1. Navigate to Locations and select Edit on the desired location.
2. Click Visitor Types in the left panel.
3. Click Add New in the top right-hand corner.
4. Enter a Visitor Type name (e.g., Contractor, Guest, Delivery).
5. Choose Legal Documents, Photo/ID Capturing, Badge Printing, and WiFi Credentials as needed.
6. Add a Welcome Message, instructions for Watchlist alerts, or a Video URL.
7. Customize Sign-In and Sign-Out Fields (e.g., name, email, phone number).
Drag and drop to reorder, mark fields as mandatory, or add new custom fields.
⭐ Note: To add custom fields for your visitor types, you’ll need to create them first. Refer to our article on Custom Fields. Once created, you can select these fields from the dropdown to add to your visitor types.
8. Click Save to apply your settings.
Modifying Visitor Types
1. Navigate to Locations and select Edit on the desired location.
2. Click Visitor Types in the left panel.
3. Select the visitor type you want to view or edit.
4. Update fields as needed in the Update Visitor Type popup.
5. Click Update to save changes.
Managing Visitor Type Features
Activate/Deactivate Visitor Types
Use the toggle in the Status column to enable or disable specific visitor types.
Capture Visitor ID
Toggle the option in the Capture Visitor ID column to activate or deactivate ID collection.
Photo and Badge Printing
Adjust the toggle for Photo capture and Badge printing in each visitor type’s configuration.
Delete a Visitor Type
Toggle the Status option to disable the visitor type. Click the red trash can icon and type DELETE to finalize the action.
